■『KASHIMA アーティスト・イン・レジデンス』とは

『KASHIMA』は、NPO法人BEPPU PROJECTが2008年より継続開催しているアーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラムです。別府の温泉文化のなかに息づく湯治のための宿泊形態「貸間」から名付けられたこのプログラムでは、国内外のアーティストが別府の町に長期滞在し、町や地域の人々との交流のなかでさまざまなインスピレーションを受けながら、創作活動をおこないます。

世界中で新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大の影響が色濃く続くなか、今回は、国内在住のアーティストと海外在住のアーティストが、オンラインを活用して国際共同制作をおこなうレジデンス企画を募集します。創作の分野は問いません。今だからこそできる表現・今だからこそやるべき創作に、ぜひ挑戦してください。

■募集内容（概要）

募集人数：3組
- 国内アーティスト (日本国内在住・日本国籍保持者) １人と海外アーティスト (日本国外在住・日本以外の国籍保持者) １人の２人１組でおこなう国際共同制作企画
- 国内アーティストは別府市に滞在し参加、海外アーティストは自国からオンラインで参加
滞在期間：30日以上／2022年1月11日の週〜2月14日(月)（予定）
活動ジャンル：現代美術、音楽、パフォーマンス、映画、文学、工芸、建築、食文化など、創作活動であればジャンルは問いません。
サポート：
【費用】
- 創作活動費：上限 400,000円 (税込) ／組　※材料費、調査に係る費用 (現地での交通費、資料代、通信費、謝礼費) 、制作費などを含みます。
- 国内アーティストの滞在に関する日当：4,000円 (税込) ／日
- 国内アーティストの居住地 ( 航空利用の場合は最寄りの空港、鉄道の場合は最寄りの駅 ) から別府への往復交通費 (１往復分)
【滞在・創作活動場所】※国内アーティストのみ
- BEPPU PROJECTが選んだ別府市内のアパートまたは一軒家。※トイレ・キッチンは他のアーティストと共用の可能性あり。また、お風呂は近隣の共同温泉の可能性あり。
新型コロナウイルス感染症に関する注意事項
- 日本政府および自治体の要請をふまえて、本事業を中止または変更する場合があります。

We "BEPPU PROJECT" is calling for our residence program "KASHIMA 2021 BEPPU ARTIST IN RESIDENCE".

■About "KASHIMA ARTIST IN RESIDENCE"

“KASHIMA BEPPU ARTIST IN RESIDENCE” is a residence program that BEPPU PROJECT has held in Beppu since 2008. In Japanese, “KASHIMA” refers to the name of the place of your stay in order to heal your body and soul in a bath and spa. One of the aims of this residence program is to promote and develop creations, in connection with local community and the artists.

We are calling for collaboration projects that domestic artists and foreign artists can cooperate using online. While the continuous influence of COVID-19, it is time to challenge for expressions and creations that can be done with this circumstance. Any genres will be welcome.

■Application Overview

Numbers of Acceptance: 3 pairs of 2 people
- A pair refers to 1 domestic (Japanese nationality) artist who stays in Beppu during the program and 1 foreign (non-Japanese nationality and residing outside Japan) artist from his/her residing area via online.
- A project proposal must be created by these 2 artists to cooperate to have an international-collaboration
Residency Term: 30 days and longer / the week of January 11 through February 14, 2022
Genres: Any genres including contemporary art, music, performing arts, filming, literature, handcraft, architecture, and culinary art etc.
Supports：
【Cost】
- Work creation fee: Up to 400,000 JPY (tax included) / Pair *consist of any material, research related (transportation cost at on-site, data and documents, communications, rewards, and gratitude) and creation costs.
- Daily allowance for the domestic artist only: 4,000JPY/day (tax included)
- Transportation cost for the domestic artist only: A Round trip from one’s place of residence (the closest airport if plane and the closest station if train) to Beppu
【Accommodation and Work Studio】
- Accommodation and work studio will be either a house or apartments within Beppu chosen by BEPPU PROJECT; may need to share toilet(s) and the kitchen with other artists. It is also possible that one may need to use the public baths close to one’s accommodation.
COVID-19
- This program is subject to change due to the Japanese government and the local government requirement.
