「KASHIMA 2014」とは

私たちは「ファンタスティック、マジック、ワンダフル別府」をテーマに、世界中のアーティストに向けて「KASHIMA2014」への参加を呼びかけました。公募に応じた374組から選ばれた２人のアーティストは、フランスのアガット・ドゥ・バイアンクールと、中国のアイリ・ザング。彼女たちはそれぞれの芸術的探求を深め、新たなアイデアを見いだすべく、別府に滞在します。12月には、別府のまちなかに壁画作品をお披露目予定。別府で過ごす時間からインスピレーションを受け、別府のための特別な作品が生み出されることでしょう。

To the artists from the world we whispered the invocation-like formula"Fantastic, Magic, Wonderful Beppu", for the "KASHIMA 2014″ residence's open call, to raise the wind of imagination on Beppu.
From the 374 art proposals received, we have selected two artists: Agathe De Bailliencourt (France) and Aili Zhang (China). In Beppu, the artists will take time to find new inspirations for their work. At the end of the residence, they will create new artworks on the walls of Beppu.

アガット・ドゥ・バイアンクール

Agathe De Bailliencourt

1974年フランス生まれ、ベルリン在住。キャンバスのみにおさまらず、空間そのものや建造物、自然にダイレクトに働きかける。最近では時間・空間・無限をテーマに、地平線についての問いを扱うシリーズを発表している。

Born in 1974 in France, she currently lives in Berlin. She works on canvas, paper, and directly onto space, architecture and nature. She has been working on landscape since 2011. Her latest body of work deals with the classic question of horizon, as one of painting's most traditional acts in defining time, space, and a scale of infinity.

アイリ・ザング

アイリ・ザング

Aili Zhang

1988年中国生まれ、オランダ在住。中国の伝統的な絵画「ゴンビ」を学び、インクによる抽象画に興味を抱くようになる。現在では異なる素材を組み合わせ、自身が描く筆のストロークは想像させつつも、３次元的なインスタレーションへと作品を進化させている。

Born in 1988 in China, she resides in The Netherlands. She has studied traditional Chinese painting, called Gongbi, during her childhood and later she started to be interested in abstract ink painting. She is now extending her art to three dimensional visual art installations using other material than paint. However the installations she creates recall vividly her brushstrokes...
